Our
Ministry
Our ministry is with AIM AIR, the aviation branch of Africa
Inland Mission. We are part of a team of some 30 missionary
families serving other missionaries and Christian workers
throughout nine different countries in East Africa. AIM AIR
has a fleet of twelve aircraft, mainly based in Nairobi,
Kenya, utilized to meet the needs of people working in some
of the region's most remote locations. We use airplanes to
get missionaries to and from their places of calling, and to
move the stuff of missions and ministry that they need. The
people we serve and sustain are Bible translators, doctors
and nurses, Church planters, evangelists, agriculturalists,
engineers, teachers... people using their talents and
training toward the growth of God's Kingdom in Africa.

Mike serves as a pilot for AIM AIR. He flies
about forty hours each month, mostly in a Cessna Grand
Caravan, throughout Kenya and into neighboring countries such
as the DRC Congo and Sudan. He also spends about six nights a
month away from home at remote locations with the airplane.
One of the hallmarks of AIM AIR's ministry is keeping a plane
and pilot with a missionary who needs a few days at a
particular location. On "safari flights" like these Mike gets
to serve in other ways - mechanic, electrician, school
teacher... and the most privileged role of all – encourager.
Renee plays the part of encourager as well – exercising her
gift of hospitality to missionaries passing through Nairobi,
and supporting Mike amidst an unpredictable schedule and some
fairly dangerous flights.
Renee's role in ministry is perhaps more
impacting (even if less glamorous) than Mike's. She serves in
"the most important place on earth" –our home– schooling
Amelia and Zach and shaping a home that honors and glorifies
God.
Our Other
Ministry
This term Mike started working part-time along side a new
ministry team in AIM called the On-Field Media
Ministry. The goal of the media ministry is simple:
"Declare His Glory" (Psalm 96:3) by
telling the stories of missions here in Africa – through
writing, video, photography, web, and some other creative
means. To learn more about the purpose and vision of this
ministry, check out the OFM website.
